Back!

We’re back from Philly and New Jersey, had a blast!  I’ll post some pics from around Philadelphia and the wedding in a bit.  Until then, check out this picture of a funky black and white room.  I love black and white photos framed with white matting and white frames…chic.

One of my Favorite Kitchens

I love this kitchen.  Not only do I love the funky colors (aqua being my fave color), but the layout is unique and functional.  The light that comes in through the windows over the sink are great. That’s one thing I wish my kitchen had more of – natural light.

Busily Attractive

Okay normally I would never ever do a room the way this has been done.  Crazy busy wallpaper, two of everything, things are completely symmetrical, everything matches… but for some reason I just love it!  It looks like the perfect sophisticated beach home…and I like the bright blue versus the typical and expected aqua everywhere.  The animal print touches – leopard rug and zebra ottoman – take it over the edge.  I would never accessorize with those giant blue and white urns, especially with that wallpaper, but it works.  I saw these images on Traditional Home’s website.

Great Bedroom

At my office we receive about every single interior design magazine invented… we keep a library of them dating back to 2001simply to peruse through to find inspiration.  I have a binder of pages that I have secretly ripped out… usually of things I’m attracted to (funky, unique and/or old things) that the firm I work for would never like (seeing as most jobs we have are the typical Florida fresh and beachy look).  Check out this bedroom, I love the bold wall color and reeeeeally love the paisley pillow cover. I scanned the page from the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of Metropolitan Home.

Coolest Stairs Ever

Check these stairs out… they remind me of the slides at the fair where you ride down on a potato sack.

Philadelphia

Well my fiance and I are heading up north on Wednesday for my best friend’s wedding!  So excited, haven’t been on a real trip in awhile. 🙂  The wedding is taking place in Longbranch, NJ but we’re flying into Philly on Wednesday.  I just made a reservation at a place called the Rodeway Inn… looks kinda neat, AND got a last minute deal of $104 for the night! Not bad.  Here’s a pic of the place.

Based on my internet research I’ve decided that South Street is the place to be.  Lots of cool shops and restaurants and bars, that will be our hang out this Wednesday.

I found a list of all the historical places to see in Philadelphia which will be fun… I also made a list of potential restaurants to eat at… my fave being one called Supper.  Lets hope it’s delish.

Anyway, I’ll be back to post some awesome designy stuff later! 🙂

Perfect Powder

I admit that a lot of the things I post will probably be related to interior design… that’s what I do… it’s what I do all day.  So here’s a photo I came across today of an adorable powder bath.  Just love this funky wallpaper by Cole and Son.  Notice the chair rail and solid color below.  That really helps the space, if the entire wall had the wallpaper it might make you feel like you’re walking in one of those giant spinning tubes they have at the fair.

Inspiration Found – Entry One!

Alright so I’ve decided that I love blogging.  This is my 2nd… well 3rd in a way.  I have a wedding planning blog and a photography blog with my friend and photo-partner Chrissy.  This blog shall be different.  I am an interior designer by day, so I’m surrounded by creativity (sometimes)… but what really excites me is inspiration.  It can be found ANYWHERE and in ANYTHING… nature, music, photography, people, a sofa, a ceramic bowl, I mean ANYTHING.  When I see things that stimulate my brain, I get butterflies in my stomach.  That must mean I’m in love with design because I don’t know what else it could be… besides a little psychosis.  I love my life, my fiance, my pug, my house, my town, my family my friends, but I always feel like I’m searching, for what I don’t know!  But I hope I know once I find it.  I have a feeling it stems from my insatiable need for creativity and I think it could be fun to let it all flow out, like little cartoon notes floating out of a saxophone.  So here goes…
